TURTLE TIMES is the theme of the next Late Night Thursday on March 5. The focus of the evening will be our new HERE AND NOW exhibition „De/collecting Memories from Turtle Island.“ In some indigenous traditions, the Americas, or even the world as a whole, are called Turtle Island. Marie Watts‘ cloud sculptures Thirteen Moons, which you can see in the exhibition, are also closely linked to the history of Turtle Island. Watts‘ sculptures can be touched and brought to life.

Program:

6–9 pm
Performances by the Cologne University of Music and Dance Centre for Contemporary Dance in and with the work Thirteen Moons by Marie Watt (1st floor)

6–8 pm
Curator’s tour of the exhibition HERE & NOW, followed by a reading (7 pm) by Robin Wall Kimmerer at the Cologne City Library – Interim Central Library

6:30–9:30 pm
Open studio: flat printing techniques in the workshop (ground floor, behind the ticket office at the south entrance)

🎟️ As always, admission is free all day for people who live in Cologne. Everyone else pays €7 from 5 pm onwards.

TURTLE TIMES heißt es am nächsten LADO am 5. März. An diesem Abend steht unsere neue HIER UND JETZT-Ausstellung „De/collecting Memories from Turtle Island“ im Fokus. In einigen indigenen Traditionen heißen die Amerikas, oder auch die Welt als Ganzes, Turtle Island. Auch Marie Watts Schellenwolken Thirteen Moons, die in der Ausstellung zu sehen sind, sind eng verbunden mit der Entstehungsgeschichte von Turtle Island. Watts Skulpturen dürfen berührt und belebt werden. Kommt vorbei!

Kuratorinnen-Führung durch die HIER UND JETZT-Ausstellung und anschließende Lesung (19h) von Robin Wall Kimmerer in der Stadtbibliothek Köln – Interim Zentralbibliothek

18:30-21:30h
Offenes Atelier: Flachdruckverfahren im Werkraum (EG, hinter der Kasse am Südeingang)

🎟️ Wie immer gilt: Ganztägig freier Eintritt für Menschen, die in Köln wohnen. Alle anderen zahlen ab 17h 7€.
